So we all know wyndscreen.com is the best place to buy and sell used cars, right?!    Right.

Now that we have that out of the way, we are going to take the time to answer some questions that we get often…

2. What do I need to know to list my car?

-Year

-Make (ex. Ford)

-Model (ex. Camaro)

-Trim (ex. Limited)

-Mileage

-Drivetype (ex. AWD or RWD)

-Transmission type

-Fuel type

-Color

-Number of doors

-Status of the title

-Price

-Number of engine cylinders or if it’s an EV

-At least 2 pictures

-You do not need to add any additional info, but more detailed info helps the seller understand quickly if they are interested and helps avoid wasted time

We require this info because it’s the minimum amount of relevant info buyers want to see to decide if they are interested in your car.  This helps avoid wasted time for both the buyer and seller.

3. How long is my ad active?

-30 days

4. Can anyone list their car at wyndscreen?    Even dealers?

-Anyone with a privately owned used car or truck can list for sale at wyndscreen. We do not discriminate!  Just make sure to mark it ‘private’ when listing it for sale.  We accommodate small ‘mom and pop’ type used car dealers too…we have a section for them!

(We do monitor for dealers posting in the private owner section and will remove ads as needed if anyone violates the terms)

5. Can I update my ad after a few days?

-Yes!   All ads are easily modified and updated via the ‘edit listing’ button at the bottom of your ad.   If you need to make major changes, such as updating the Make, model, and/or trim, its best to close the original ad and make a new one to avoid confusion.   Again, no cost!

6. Can I bump my ad back up to the top?

-Not at this time, but you are free to close your old listing and create a new one which will showcase closer to the top

7. How do I communicate with a buyer?

-Wyndscreen offers an in-site messaging service that relays emails (emails will come to the address you registered with)

Or you can include your contact info in the ad.

We take spam and scams very seriously, so we are constantly monitoring for weird behavior from users and will shut them down quickly.  

7. How do I communicate with a buyer?

-At the time, all accounts and for sale posts are FREE.  No fees to list, buy, or sell.   

9. How can I help my car sell faster?

-From our research, we have found that clear pictures (as many as you can) and a detailed list of the pros and cons of you car will not only help save wasted time but will ensure that buyers find what they want quicker, so you car will sell quicker!

If your car has some rust, a check engine light, and/or dents and dings, let everyone know…..because of course they will see it when the come check it out.   No need to disappoint anyone.

Also make sure its priced reasonably.   Do a small bit of research at kbb.com, NADA, or other used car sites (good luck with that!) and get an idea of what your car is worth.  You’ll want to price it near the ‘private party*’ value. Pricing it too high and no one will buy at, but just as bad, pricing it too low will leave money on the table for you!    Its always recommended to start a bit high and see what kind of response you get.   It’s easy to lower the price, not so easy to try and raise it after you get 25 calls about it!

*Private Party Value is the price you could expect for a vehicle sales transaction between two consumers. Depending on demand and condition, this transaction price will be between the wholesale value and the retail value. Private party transactions are typically less than dealer sales because they do not provide the buyer any financing options, warranty, nor any recourse should there be any problems with the vehicle. All sales are usually considered final and as-is.

10. I’m a buyer, how do I get in touch with the sellers?

-If the seller did not include any contact information in their ad, then you will need to quickly create an account to access the email messaging relay feature of the site.   

This helps minimize scams and spam on our sellers.
