Hashtag -Save the Manuals-

As we move from 2024 to 2025…..lets take a look at something worth celebrating:

All of the 2024 models that are offered with a manual transmission that you can now look for as good used cars as we move into 2025!

Now the sad reality is that manual transmissions are going away, quickly.    Whomp Whomp.

It started with manufacturers wanting to streamline production and have less drivetrain variations that affects drivetrain placement, mounts, shifters, interior trim pieces, driveshafts, and emissions programming.

They chase every savings they can find….and the end user suffers.

Then the narrative changed to emissions related concerns.

They claim that automatic transmissions can be programmed to maximize MPGs.

While that may be true in the most unrealistic real world ‘testing’ that they do…….it sure does suck the life out of any potential driving excitement.

Up shift points are far too soon, you have to floor it to actually downshift, and worst of all, they are now cramming 8-10 gears into the transmission and reliability has fallen off a cliff.   And paying for a 10 speed rebuild?!  Hope you have a massive credit card limit.

Let’s not even talk about the horrendous Nissan CVTs.    Them chasing a few magical MPGs (and other fatal cost cutting measures) has all but bankrupted that company.

Go woke go broke as they say!

So, what do we do about this quickly approaching automatic-only dystopian world?

Well, as users of wyndscreen, we know you are a fan of the good used car…..so here are the 2024 models that should be showing up at wyndscreen.com shortly!

And keep an eye out for 2025 models (there are less models offered with a manual transmission than in 2024…..but we can save them!)

And best of all, the wyndscreen marketplace makes it super easy to narrow down your search to just manuals……a feature that is not offered everywhere!

  • Ford Bronco

The OG model in 1966 was only offered in a manual….and you can still get one today.  (but not with all engines/trims….so be careful when searching!)

    • BMW M3 (and M2/M4)

Just like the Ford Bronco…the OG 1986 M3 was only offered in a manual (the ultimate driving machine…..remember?) and you can still get one today!  Same with the M2 and M4…..and the M2 is really the spiritual successor to the OG M3…..a real drivers car….but rare!

    • Mazda Miata

See a trend here?   The original NA Mazda Miata was only offered with a manual transmission…..and you can still get one today with the ND generation!   Many say this is the last true ‘drivers’ sports car left in the USA…..so get one while you still can!

    • Toyota Tacoma

The Tacoma went through a massive update for 2024…..but still kept the manual as an option. It’s the last manual pickup available in the USA.    It’s only offered in the 4 door, 4 wheel drive models in a variety of trims…..but that’s what most buy anyway (and its cheaper than the comparable auto)…..NICE!

    • Subaru BRZ

Lightweight, nimble, and reasonably priced…..and offered with a manual transmission as standard (as it should be!)….you want to drive, right?

Here is the full list of 2024 models offered with a manual transmission….get one before its too late!
